The Institute of Regenerative Sports Medicine in Fort Lauderdale and Margate, Florida, is proud to offer state-of-the-art treatments administered by world class physicians. Dr. Michael Mashura
Dr. Michael Mashura specializes in orthopedic surgery with a subspecialty in sports medicine. He has extensive experience in the surgical treatment of all types of orthopedic injuries with additional expertise in sports and activity-related injuries to the shoulder and knee.
Dr. Mashura obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, followed by his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Hofstra University/Northwell Health in Long Island, New York, and a fellowship in sports orthopedic surgery at Miami Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute in Coral Gables, Florida.
Dr. Mashura is experienced in all aspects of sports medicine and athletic injuries. He has served as team physician for multiple athletic teams, including Florida International University, and the Miami Heat. He also assists Cardinal Gibbons High School, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Dr. Mashura has also served as the sideline physician for a wide variety of sporting competitions, including New York Cosmos Professional Soccer, Merchant Marine Academy Division III NCAA football, Miami Dade Public High School football, and Long Island High School football. He has co-published and lectured on topics related to ACL injuries, cartilage degeneration/regeneration, shoulder instability, and hip preservation.
In his free time, he remains active by running. He has completed the New York City marathon and numerous half marathons. He also enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking, and swimming.
Dr. Jonathan Aarons
Dr. Jonathan Aarons is board-certified in both anesthesia and pain management. Dr. Aarons has more than 20 years of experience helping patients in South Florida manage their acute and chronic pain, including herniated and bulging discs, spinal stenosis, facet disease, nerve damage and injury, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD).
Dr. Aarons earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland, and completed an internship in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, International Anesthesia Research Society, and International Spinal Injection Society.
Dr. Nathan Bastoky
Dr. Natan Bastoky is dual board-certified in Family Medicine with additional qualifications in Sports Medicine. He specializes in non-operative management of all musculoskeletal conditions including knee, shoulder, wrist, hand, foot, ankle, hip, and spine. From conditions not requiring surgery, to patients not ready for surgery, or not medically cleared for surgery, he focuses his care on restoring patients to the active lifestyle that they are accustomed to, while minimizing down time.
Dr Bastoky went to the University of Florida in Gainesville where he obtained his undergraduate degree. He then attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, earning his degree in osteopathic medicine. He then completed his training in Family Medicine through Broward Health Medical Center. Most recently he attended the Louisiana State University Primary Care Sports Medicine program at Lafayette, Louisiana where he served as a team physician for the University of Louisiana, along with several of the local high schools.
He enjoys spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he likes going to the gym and camping.
